The windscreen can be had for around 150£ while the loom from e.g. MobileCentre (site sponsor) is about 100£.
Checked it some time ago and I don't know exact numbers anymore but it is around this figure. All in all a very welcome upgrade, all the Defenders here are fitted with one, wouldn't want to be without, esp. on the Td5 it is a very useful upgrade when the weather is damp. One of the best value upgrades you can get!
I upgraded when my screen started to leak, around £150 + new seal and labour to get the screen fitted, I did the wiring my self with my own loom which probably saved at least another £50-£100. Worth every penny |

However if it's the one you have set in your profile, then it's a XS and should have a heated screen 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Heated screen is only there with the winter pack (along with heated seats) is it not?

An XS specification Defender normally has the following as standard, which is called the "Winter Pack" by Land Rover in the brochure:
Heated Windscreen Heated Seats So all the wiring and switches would be in place for those. This pack is (was) an option on other specifications. Any Defender that was not factory fitted with a heated windscreen will NOT have the wiring in place. OK for the pedants I'm sure there are a handful of exceptions to this where the line ran out of standard looms or whatever 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Sorry for the confusion, I'm talking about the factory-fitted option.
For fitting after that, you can either buy the whole lot from one place, or the screen from someone and the loom from elsewhere, etc. I'm just a bit confused why you appear to have an XS without a heated screen. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Thanks Martin. The heated windscreen is going into one which does not have the loom installed. So what I'm wanting to do is purchase the heated screen, switch gear and wiring kit to put one in.
Do you know where this could be bought? Damn planet is short of Kryptonite ! |
