On Saturday:

Got 100 litres of heating oil in two trips (only had two 5 gallon containers) for a friend whose husband is out in Afghanistan. She ran out of oil, no one could supply her at short notice, she has a 2 year old girl and was snowed/iced in right in the middle of nowhere.

I have also found out how hard it is to pour 5 gallons on oil into a tank - it was above head height and windy with no funnel available. I suspect no more than 90 litres actually got into the tank.

My clothes reek of the stuff! She now has heating though.

Also ferried people to a church for a christening. I'm now a Godfather, whatever that means... Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Had a heated windscreen fitted to the Td5 today and am in progress of installing a Webasto cabin heater.
This should help to fight the cold weather Laughing Peter,

Fitted a lock box and under cubby box safe, I took some photos which I'll post later.

Tomorrow I'll be fitting the glove box and rear door gas strut. I do have a heated mirror kit to fit but as I looked at the mirror arms to see they are heavily corroded after 6 months, I'll get them replaced first. Russell

Sorted out the centre glovebox. It's amazing how much junk you can get in it!

Popped out to fit my heater intake snow cover and soft A-bar. Should've only taken 30 mins...

... 3 hours later, covered in waxoyl, dirt and gutter sealant I re-emerged.

Snow guard straightforward but I used loads of gutter sealant to try and prevent water ingres to my footwell (which I think is getting in around the seal with the wing and chequer plate).

The A-bar was a bit of a pig because the lower brackets weren't designed to work with my steering guard so after a lot of fiddling around and cursing - trying to get it to line up - I resorted to the crow bar and mallet with much greater success. The top brackets then prevented the bonnet from closing so a bit more bodging, I mean customisation, later it's finally fitted. Lets hope I don't have to take it off any time soon.

Just need to wire up ose spots now Thumbs Up One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS
+ New Defender 110 First Edition

Fitted the Scangauge...... popped the OBD connection out of the mounting in the fuse box and pushed it up behind the speaker then took the speaker out connected the Scangauge cable to the OBD and pushed the other end through the hole in the dash to the right of the steering wheel.. Mounted the Scangauge to the steering column....Sorted Thumbs Up
