You know that as a stop-gap you can run a domestic oil-fired boiler on diesel (albeit a very expensive stop-gap!)?

Ran out of heating oil last year (our top up scheme didn't quite work as planned), and in an emergency, siphoned the diesel out of my wife's car, and into the oil tank.

Not a very good solution long-term, both for the wallet and the boiler, but it does work!

Got 100 litres of heating oil in two trips (only had two 5 gallon containers) for a friend whose husband is out in Afghanistan. She ran out of oil, no one could supply her at short notice, she has a 2 year old girl and was snowed/iced in right in the middle of nowhere.

I have also found out how hard it is to pour 5 gallons on oil into a tank - it was above head height and windy with no funnel available. I suspect no more than 90 litres actually got into the tank.

My clothes reek of the stuff! She now has heating though.

Also ferried people to a church for a christening. I'm now a Godfather, whatever that means...

It doesn't look that bad, but the other side was a lot deeper and was down to the axle.

That'll teach me for being clever! Managed to dig it out though.

If it countes fitted some 16cm speakers in the rear...whilst not the same as a sub has made a massive difference!

Next stereo plan would be a new head unit Mike
