which dash have i got ? / wiper motor help
Hi Guys , just got a 1995 m reg 90 which looks to have been diy modded all over the place Confused , anyway the wipers only work on 1 speed & also ,on intermittant they seem to do as they like , stopping in the middle of the windscreen Confused when i ordered a new fog light switch i was told that because of where it is located (next to the hazzard switch drivers side dash mounted ) that the dash appears to be td5 ?? my questions are... how do i sort these wipers out , i have fitted a new stalk but still the same issues , how do i get to the wiper motor on this dash & do i need a new motor or a switch for the intermittant & why only 1 speed ??

If only one speed is working, then i'd suspect the motor itself.

If it's stopping in random places, then again the motor, or maybe the park switch, but probably the motor itself i'd aim for.


You say yours is an M reg, but you describe the dash as being a Td5 type?

A few questions if you please:

1) is the engine a Tdi or a Td5?

2) in the "middle" of the dash area, is there a large square part with switches mounted all around it?

If it's a 300Tdi and has the large square (Td5) dash fitted, then someone has been "upgrading" and possibly messed the wiper wiring up.

It could be a geniune factory Td5 with the early dash though (my old one was). I think these models used the old (300Tdi) style motor, as opposed to the later upgrded dash (middle switches and different dash trinket trays) which had the motor mounted in a different position, and was a different motor.

I think some pictures might help.
