United Kingdom 2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS DCPU Bonatti Grey
Warranty Work
Dropped the Defender into Lookers Colchester this morning and never been so patronised!

Got a real heavy nocking on the engine when its cold with an excessive amount of blue smoke on start up.
It pops out of high range after using low rage.
Rear passengers door seals fell off and got caught in the door.
Corrosion around the wing mirrors
After driving a friends 110 6 months newer than ours but otherwise identical, their turning circle is significantly smaller & brakes much sharper. When reporting this i was asked if i was sure the friends vehicle was a Defender an if it was a 90 rather than a 110.

My mum & I are the main drivers of the Landy an Mum will freely admit she has little mechanical knowledge but certainly knows when a car is chucking blue smoke out, rattling like a bag of spanners and how to use a transfer box after having 4x4's for the past 20+ years. Maybe we should have questioned the knowledge of the over weight bundle of joy service assistant & forced a smile out of her?

Then there is the shinny new £33k TD4 HSE Freelander we have been given, nice car but who & why do people buy such a car when you can get a S3 for the same money?

Oh well we await their call to colect it Very Happy

Steering stops are arbitrarily set. Always need adjusting.

Nothing wrong with a freelander!

I mean to check my steering stops - as mentioned they are set by science

Some blue smoke at start up is common and normal

The high range popping out thing could be poorly adjusted linkage - but it could also be driver error, ive seen it pop out a few times when you think its in properly...its a quirk (or charactoristic). Mike

my old 300tdi 90 had a really good turning circle. the Puma was rubbish until i adjusted them my self.......now as good as the old 90.

only took about 15 mins and is straight forward. BM52
