I've put this in the technical section as I suspect the thread I'm looking for will be in here.
someone previously suggested the LR dealer replaced what was deemed as a too small bolt for a larger one in the foot box area where it bolts to chassis. there was even a photo of the offending bolt? It all seems a bit strange but if I remember right this improved clutch action, vibration and so on. my truck has been running a treat for the last 2 or 3 weeks - absolutely brill but then last night it came to an end - creaking clutch pedal, poor gear change possibly the result of not getting a full dis-engagement and vibration/clatter at about 1800 rpm? I'm sure it's going to be something simple, it's almost as if something shifts out of alignment - may be need new gearbox mounts or something????????? anyhow would love to find the thread and try to get some more info out of the person in question? |

Please Caterham, for the love of god, sell the Defender and become a pedestrian and local transport user.
Though I fear should you take this advice then you will find pavements uneven, cracked and unaligned, and buses, trains and taxis suffering from unexplained listing, vibrations and with poor interior and exterior illumination, and with skewed axels causing uncontrolled tilting when cornering etc. etc. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

it's all a bit new to me this def2.net stuff. been doing loads of searches and beginning to think I dreamt it up? someone had a bolt replaced cos it wasn't man enough. the bolt was down by the foot box / chassis and following its replacement the clutch was smoother along with some clattering from memory. it just might be one of the many things ( ) I'm suffering from |
