I've got some on mine because with having led headlights that run cold, snow can build up in winter and I though the covers would stop this happening. Two things I have found are, muck and water can get down behind them which makes them look terrible so I put a thin line of closed cell foam around the edge to stop anything getting down the back but when it gets cold now the covers fog up which is annoying. This shouldn't be a problem in summer but it's not so good in winter

They will protect but the inside face will also get dirty fairly regularly and so to clean you will need to factor in taking them off and putting them back on again.

3M VPS or a clear window "smash & grab" film on the outer lens will also provide excellent protection - without issues of removing and cleaning.

Is it really a problem that needs to be solved?
I can't say I've heard of large numbers of Defenders suffering with smashed headlamps driving around the UK, or even further afield. Unless you're bashing through jungles or following trucks on gravel roads for hundreds of miles are they really at risk? The plastic lamps such as the Wipac Crystals or the LED offerings are probably more resistant to smashing than the glass ones anyway. |

As said above, my reason for having them is to keep snow off the lights in winter

I've had a headlight smash before I changed to led. The stone was still inside, it happened within a 10mile stretch of my home  2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
