HELP!
I have now given up trying to work out how to re-attach my 2 rear quarter window trim panels! They came off easily with a trim removed tool... 2 'sprung' type clips remained loose on the rear interior body and they seem to locate into the 2 u shaped clips inside the trim. I cannot work out how these click back in place! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Can anyone advise please... I am certain this is not THAT complicated!! Cheers, Peter. YOLO... Sorry... don't understand??
The 'clips' are exactly as they were when I took the trim off. Aside from sliding down the rear frame once the trims were removed... YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Remove them from the bodywork, squeeze the Trim side with pliers to get a very good fit to the Trim, attach to Trim Panel, refit Trim Panel to Bodywork. NormanD WE191

If I understand correctly...
Take the metal clips off the bodywork, insert them with the same orientation directly into the 'U' shaped mounts on the trims... but I will need to squeeze these metal clips tightly with pliers to get them to fit inside the 'U' shaped trim mounts... Is that right? YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Correct.
As above, the clips are originally fitted to the trim first, you have pulled them off the trim and they've stayed on the body. |

Anybody have the part number for these clips and where to best order them? I have taken those trim panels off and back on again numerous times, and just would like to have some of those clips in storage for future use.

Many thanks to you all!
All of this to fit a rear 'Scenelite'!!! For 'next' time... is it possible to remove the trims in such a way that the spring clips stay attached to the trims? YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

You can be incredibly careful and gentle and some stay on the trim, some stay on the vehicle, some ping off and some break in half

Pete,
Each time I've removed mine one clips stays put and one stays on the trim, it's a matter of seconds to put them back on the trim piece. How have you wired in the Scenelight? Have you out an in line switch or anything? 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Hi Mate, Yes I have installed it! After much deliberation and checking, I used the feed off the interior lights, taking it from the rear one. The Scenelite is a pretty low current drawer... after a moment on here of checking panic! I ran a feed to a switch that I installed on the rear RHS panel. From there, up to the light. I relocated the rear screen washer nozzle to the LHS of the rear door. It all worked well. Pictures... Switch install, Click image to enlarge Light and washer location Click image to enlarge Light ON! Its Soooo BRIGHT! Click image to enlarge A lot of (enjoyable!) work for a 'simple' job... but if there was a 'next time', as usual it would be a LOT quicker! Cheers, Pete YOLO... You Only Live Once... |
