Great to meet everyone today.
Thanks to all the Devon4x4 team for all their help and advice.... and with helping me to spend my money on a few parts I needed I only travelled approx 260 miles to be there today...so it might be be the furthest distance? Perhaps alittle to far for my next service though. An enjoyable meet! |

Love this who travelled further competition.
Was interesting to see the shop as well as the meet as some of us have been to the shop before. (Not me). And others haven't, however, most of us have bought parts online though. I did just at Christmas, I like the fact that it is good quality. Especially D44 branded. If there was another in the future though I would make it later in the day or at least lunchtime / 1pm especially at this time of year it isn't light until 8AM. Some of us were washing their Def in the dark at night and getting up before light on a Saturday too. No one can say that is not devotion to the cause! |

Thank you Stu for organising the meet and a very big thank you to Simon, Liz and Jake. It was great to put some names to faces and I for one will be back for a visit when the new showroom is completed.

Great day today, thanks to everyone for making it so, especially Simon and Liz for hosting us so well, and Stu and TJ for organising. It was quite a convoy heaving up from junction 27 - caused quite a lot of flashing from Defenders in the opposite direction.
Decided to risk getting all the way back home without filling up "as it usually does 300 miles between fills" - was getting pretty nervous with 30 miles to go with the light on - ended up putting 52 litres in so 3 litres spare. What was a I worrying about?! Still, 280 miles done in the day, averaging a pretty poor 24mpg in a td5 90? I should have got a v8... I was trying to count how many Defenders we had from the snaps. I think we had around 19 in total once K9F's party had turned up, sound about right? Click image to enlarge Heritage recently off the production line, what a great model to end the production run with. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Romadog's epic piece of work, combining a 4.0 v8 in a 110 fitted out with td5 spec interior. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I think they said this was a ongoing series 1 project for their 'spare time'. Click image to enlarge Leaf spring anyone? Click image to enlarge Trying to prise details of the replacement out of Simon. Turns out he isn't privy to additional inside information himself! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 100" Defender, er 90? These were BIG tyres. Thor configuration v8 in the cage next to it. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

What a great day.
It was nice to spend a day with like minded people from all walks of life, driving a wide range of trucks,at an interesting venue. Thanks to Stu for the organising of the meet. The blast home with three black Land Rovers was also quite special ( thanks Andy and Gary ). All the day after the last Defender was made , which made it all a bit more poingnant. Thank you to all at Devon 4x4. Cheers Nick. |
