You have the SVX double headlights and the main 7" headlamp replaced by LED?
Do you have more than that, front fogs or DRL maybe? I can only say one thing, when 4 years ago my dealer replaced my Wipac H4 halogen 7" headlamps by Speaker EVOs it proved not to be really plug'n play. The LED lamp electronics got totally confused by the fogs and I had similar issues where the 90mm aux high beam lamps were staying on when they shouldn't etc. Final solution was installation of extra relay over and above the normal ones to also completely isolate the negative feed to the EVOs from all other electrics. Since that was done all works fine. Sorry, I have no diagram to post here, dealer did it, but believe the EVOs in the end had 3 relays in total. Now that I have gone back to my Wipacs it all stayed in place and continues to work perfectly. As to this....
The high beam actually uses simultaneously the 2 aux 90mm driving lamps plus the high beam of the Wipac 7" halogens, or in your case if you have installed 7" LEDs, the high beam of those LEDs. If it is different and high beam only is the 90mm aux driving lamps, it is wired up wrongly. Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw Last edited by ericvv on 30th Jan 2016 5:46pm. Thanks for your input Eric.
My symptoms started from new when the vehicle was original so I'm sure the LED headlight swap is not the trigger. However your symptoms are the same as mine - it's the small high powered aux light that stays on. |
