Thanks for that Pete, wonder if that has been tested successfully by anyone yet...
And, in any case, it seems it would be rather pointless for mine... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

What was the part number, & is it Defender specific, or simply a generic one for all Land Rovers? Pickles. |

Just found this post through searching. Can anybody confirm this is definitely the case? No offence to GUM97 by the way It's just that I asked recently for a dealer to print me out the service history of my existing LR and they told me they had no record and it had to be done by the dealer that did the work. Were they correct or fobbing me off? |

I’ve just been quoted 55 euro for a td5 service record book from a land rover garage here in the republic of Ireland!!!!Total madness.
Any idea how much they are in the UK? Perhaps Duckworth parts might have one at a reasonable price? |

Independent Land Rover Specialists who have a TOPIX account and are cleared for On Line Service Record can also view and edit vehicle service history.

The online service database is accessible by anyone with an account. You as owners can upload invoices from both dealers and independent workshops. These are then checked by LR and added to the corresponding car. I have mine serviced at a dealership and was shocked to see the invoices had not been automatically uploaded. I did it myself and they now appear.

Before I type all my personal details into a website that does not look like it's address is the main land rover one - who can verify that this is legitimate?

I thought that also... but it is legit.
The registration process is quite long. From what i remember you send a request to LR to join, they then accept and provide you with an OSH code to login |

I have always serviced my own defenders so that I know there done properly however also never had a warentee to worry about. Now I do I am not sure what way to go. I wont be taking it to listers my local dealer as I couldn't be sure they put the correct oil in but unsure if to go to another main dealer, DIY or indi?
What do other people do and has anyone had warentee issues after servicing no main dealer |

As long as genuine parts are fitted i don't think LR can refuse warranty work

Block exception states as a vehicle owner, you have the right to take your car to any garage or mechanic for servicing, but you must ensure that the servicing is carried out exactly as per the manufacturer’s servicing schedule. This means servicing must be undertaken on time and must use any parts or lubricants specified by the manufacturer.
Doing it yourselves is debatable California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |
