Strange sound at low speed...
Hi all... yet another "guess that sound" thread.

Since I've had my 110, it has always made a strange sound when toodling along in first or second gear, almost like a "rubbing" sound. It doesn't do it from the start, but if I keep on moving forward, with revs between 1k - 1.5K RPM it does it.

I generally hear it in traffic, as I'm moving along slowly. It is hard to describe, like a rubbing sound, but nothing is doing so.

You don't hear it in the higher gears or at higher speed.

Anyone else ever notice somthing like this?

No... from slightly forward from where I sit. At least to my ears! That would place it at the front diff?

The acoustics in the 110 do my head in.

Hi did anyone ever get the bottom of this as I have a 110 2009 puma and have been experiencing the same weird rubbing noise at slow speeds. I thought originally it may have been a guard near the brake disc near side front but all seems to be well there and still have the noise seems worse when been driving it a while???

Thanks

Had it with mine a couple of months back, it was the main shaft splines where they connect to the transfer box. A common problem.
