Thanks TerryT. I knew it was wholly possible.

I noticed you didn't trim your chequer plate down so that you didn't have to lift out the wheelarch spat, any reason why? When I got mine, I decided to slice them down with the jigsaw so they fitted perfectly (After all, there's no such thing as a standard fit to anything on a Defender)

They look neater as a result and it's very easy. 2016 D4 HSE

Thanks mate ..I took the decision to try and fit with everything in place to see if it would work ..my Land Rover is getting on a bit so I don't really need perfection ,I'm happy with the fit and just had a blast around a lane and it keeps the crud off well and they are solid .

Like many here I fitted dirt defenders with chequer plate sills, not a difficult job although I did use some silicone to make sure it is a nice snug fit with no gaps. Black silicone on a black car so you don't see it.

I prefer that look without the dirt defenders, your Defender looks "fit for purpose"

I fitted these front and rear having had them sprayed to match the wheel arches. I also have chequer plate but had this taken off and plasma cut to allow for a better fit ( my chequer sills were 4mm thick chequer) then the small gap between wheel arch and dirt d fender I filled with black sikaflex. Very impressed with these and they make a big difference.
Have to now fit them to wifes XS Very Happy as well, the chequerplate on hers is genuine landrover so thinner so probably wont need to be removed and cut.
I will post some pictures at the weekend. 2015 HT XS 90
