Connection for Tuning Box
Afternoon all.

I have a Speedhawk Tuning box that I want to fit to my 90 TDCi (2015MY). Having just spent 30mins in the freezing cold having a hunt round its not immediately obvious where the box plugs in so I thought I'd save myself some hyperthermia time and ask.

Anyone have a picture of where the connection is?

Thanks -------------------------------

Off Topic You have one of the Ripon Heritage editions? One like in below pictures? Probably the nicest dealer conversion that I have ever seen, congratulations.
But, thought they only made 5 in total, and you say you have number 006. How many did they make in the end in total then? I remember their plan at the time was 2x90HT, 2x90SW, 1x110SW.

You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Eric, you're correct the original pan was to only make 5 and thats what I thought until I picked it up and they had put 006 on the back! There is someone from Ripon on here so maybe he'll know the quantity they finally produced. (i'm secretly hoping its only six...)

This is mine...

Bpman: Thanks. Yes I've found that but the Speedhawk connects under the bonnet somewhere onto they injector loom - or leastways did when I had the box fitted to my Range Rover. Any ideas? -------------------------------

Tuning box..
Tuning boxes normally connect to the common rail.

If previously used on a RR - would it work on the Puma?

If the company still exists - they should be able to provide the necessary info.

Hope this helps.

Yep they plug into the common rail, couldn't describe exactly where it is though but have done it.

However, it might not be what you want to hear, but the advice from most on here would be to steer well clear of these things.

They are NOT a remap, but instead just a resistor which tricks the car into thinking it is putting less fuel in than it is (hence plugging straight into the common rail, not the ECU).

There are stories galore of faults and failures caused by these things, admittedly as well as some stories where everything is fine. Proceed with caution. Cheers, David

I tried to find some info about this box. I didn't find much except that it manipulates airflow and fuelpressure data.
I don't like that. I have however also a tuning box a psi power box for my td5. This works different it send more fuel in the cylinder by keeping the injector longer open. I think that is better.
A real remap can be better but I can switch it off and normally don't use it on-road only off-road. Roel

Tuning boxes are not good the ecu on a -2.2 needs a proper calabration not. Plug in box it will do more harm than good

All that thing will do is shirt more diesel in and pronounce any underlying problems the original calibration llready has
