Ashcroft Transfer Box ATB
Has anybody fitted an ATB into a lt 230 box and if so what were the results and benefits.

I am going to have one fitted when I have the output shaft changed in my Puma. I am trying to get rid of as much backlash in the drive train as possible.

Thanks - Ben

I have one fitted on both our cars

It is a stronger unit
Did result in less backlash
I can trust her in doors to drive them on slippy surfaces without damage to the centre diff
Cars do feels different, hard to explain but tighter

So worth the money then?? Am I correct in saying both axles have power all of the time?

Thanks - Ben

Hi Ben

The LSD helps eliminate one of the main reasons LT230 fail and i think the cars drive better.

Would i buy them again? Yes especially if i was doing work on the box.

Question is why do you need to fit one ? I get the impression that you don't really know what it does just that you think it's good to have.
Not being critical of you but genuinely curious.

I'm currently having a complete transmission upgrade which includes the ashcroft atb centre diff. I specced it for increased traction when making progress in the wet... 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I know what it does and how it works. I just want to get rid of as much transition backlash as possible. The ATB will just be a bonus.
