it would be but I don't think there's any faults being logged. I don't think they record everything

Shocked

thought I'd just 'pop' out and check the glow plugs, small socket set, multi-meter and 10 minutes should do.

F ' in aida - I think I might need to set a day aside in the summer. I'm guessing the only chance of doing that is inlet manifold off?

with the chance of snapping a glow plug off I'm wondering if installing a webasto type diesel heater might be easier and do away with the need for glow plugs plus all the other benefits.....and if a plug does snap off could prove cheaper overall?

test them in place just remove connector from the glow plug and use multi-meter on one at a time prox 0.6 ohm for good reading Exclamation

that was my intention but I'm not sure how possible / practical that is with the inlet manifold in place?

have you tried yourself or is that a theoretical suggestion?

either way thanks for the comment.

Have you seen the number of different dtcs there are for the glow plug system in total?

I think a scan tool will get you the answer you are looking for without even having to open the bonnet.

Why not check for current draw thru the circuit. about 60 amps total from stone cold. =15 amps per glow plug.
Once they`ve been used they drop to 40 amps (ish) 8 to 10 amps.
As long as there 12 volt ones. some run at 3.5 volts now, but that's mostly cars. Excuse the spelling I`am better with spanners and wires.
