You'll nly need to change the bulbs if the trailer is 24Volt.
There is no COTS adaptor available to or from the NATO 12-pin set up, because the people who use NATO sockets don't use civilian equipment. You could obtain the NATO socket from the back of a military vehicle and wire it onto one end of a lead with a seven pin 12N plug (or 13 pin, whatever you need) on the other, but it is going to be far less convenient that simpy fitting a normal lead to the trailer. Realistically, when are you going to want to use a NATO 12-pin connector on your trailer? Unless you own an ex-military LR, it is functionally useless! My advice is to remove the complete 12-pin plug and lead, replace it with a 7-pin plug and lead, and keep the NATO lead you have removed in case one day you do want to restore the trailer to as-built condition. |

Good call to be honest and your right,
I'm unlikely ever to need the 24V Nato plug. So just store it. Is it a straight forward job to wire in the 7 pin socket as I would like the front lights and rear fog to actually work, Thanks |

Yes, Pin 2 as noted in my post above.
The 12N pin allocations are as follows, with the colours used in 7-core trailer wire: 1 - Indicator Left (Yellow) 2 - Rear fog light (Blue) 3 - Earth (White) 4 - Indicator Right (Green) 5 - Offside side, marker & number plate light (Brown) 6 - Brake lights (Red 7 - Nearside side, marker & number plate light (Black) |
