The rapid clatter / clicking is the ABS working properly. TBH I would try and adapt your driving style so the ABS only comes into play in emergencies. If you drove the same way without ABS you would be locking the wheels a fair bit. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

It's only been a couple of times - as long as it's okay, then fine.
Cheers! Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

Not had abs on at all in the snow or ice all season.
Shouldnt use abs in the snow as it actually degrades your braking performance Mike |

That's why I cadence brake anyway.
Don't fancy disconnecting the ABS fuse. Anyway just wanted to make sure it was all fine, not ask for driving lessons (Police, IAM and experienced offroad driver ![]() |

Snap - ABS application should be reasonably smooth - or is on mine normally in normal conditions Mike |

ABS isn't necessary, just aim for the nearest Clio, they act as excellent brake assists

Controversial but acceptable. I would also point out that groups of 3 or more over 65's on foot is not only a great alternative but also fun. EDIT** be warned though that only the individual should be aimed for. The reusable shopping bag that they WILL be carrying is actually full of cat food and spam, you will not get the smell from the heater for months. |
