No we took the 110. I'm sure we'll be back in the series trucks at some point, eg heritagr run if/when they do it again. 2011 110 USW

My only complaint about the otherwise excellent tour is food control:-
...as soon as the morning visit people saw us 'afternooners' arriving in reception, they grabbed all the plates and rapidly stuffed their already full faces with what they had left of the food....... leaving us with just wrapped biscuits.' |

Aha, that explains. I was also on the 13.00 hours tour. I didn't even see any sign of food anymore upon arrival, so guess the morning group also must have quickly stuffed even the plates in their purses to erase all tracks.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw Last edited by ericvv on 7th Jan 2016 12:46pm. My recollection from doing the regular factory tour last year was that lunch was only provided for the people who had booked a full day i.e. tour + driving experience (or full day driving course). The 1/2 day tours don't include lunch, only light refreshments. I guess the guys you saw were "full dayers"....sadly...! We're going on the 14th, so really looking forward to it. cheers simon |

I think the tours end next week or certainly before the end of the month anyway.
I'm on the 1pm tour tomorrow with my father can't wait! |

possibly - although our guide apologised profusely that there was nothing left - adding that they did need to get control of the food arrangements |

Were going again on Monday morning. Last time it was so good that it convinced me to put the deposit on the 110......this time I am taking the new one that was built in October ......(I must have been a sucker for the marketing dream )
I really wanted to take the Series 1 back for a visit to her birthplace but (call me a wimp!!) the prospect of Essex to Solihull in Monday morning rush hour......probably in the rain...might not be the best idea......could bring it on the trailer I S'pose but I doubt there is anywhere safe to leave it....I don't think the airport short stay would appreciate a Defender and trailer....it won't quite fit in the bay's MY15.5 110XS CSW 1956 88" S1 2004 Tomcat 106 Comp safari |
