Ah interesting - does sound like there could be some sort of issue here then!

I'll try mine when I get it and report back! Cheers, David

I've got the Bluesea one in my TD5 in place of the cigarette lighter, doesn't give any interference on the radio.

However, it doesn't keep up with charging the iPad when I'm using Memory Map or View Ranger.

cheers

We supply and use both the Blue Sea 1016 dual USB and a cheaper non branded version without any issues of interference.

Now the BlueSea 1016 and most dual USB are CE approved for EMC Electromagnetic compatibility. (There is a new directive for EMC coming into force later this year Big Cry ) So in theory they should not cause interference. In practise is it varibility in build quality, or is it something to do with the vehicle wiring.

The Blue Sea 1016 is rated at 2.1 amps maximum. An iPad at max power will draw 2+ amps. Mapping applications do work at maximum current draw.

We have used the Blue Sea 1016, and an iPad mapping application whilst driving. The iPad only charged at a few%/hour

I have a Blue Sea one, it does create interference on the radio.
