How much for a nearly new 90 HT?
On landrover.co.uk prices for a HT 90 start at £19,016 + VAT.

I am looking at nearly new ones (10-15k miles) with only central locking and electric windows as extras. I'm quoted £21-24k + VAT for base base spec 90s. Are they really that rare already???

I have heard that new defenders especially the run out special are being sold straight on for £5k-£10k more than list price!

I think it's a 'blip'...

As has been said before, when the 'reality' of Defender ownership hits the uninitiated, they will sell. I too expect a lot of nearly new low mileage examples will be available his time next year... Whistle YOLO... You Only Live Once...

Possibly a blip, but again I have heard a number of them have been bought as investments and will be put into storage.

Look on eBay, Autotrader, Pistonheads and there are plenty for sale. Yes there are people asking premiums for the SE models but there is hardly a lack of supply for preowned Defenders. A hardtop is always going to fill a niche because it appeals to commercial vehicle owners; however, as per Yolo's comments, they are hardly a great choice for the average modern car driver. Anyone who doesn't go into ownership with their eyes wide open is going to be sorely disappointed.

As an aside, not all dealers are offering used examples for silly money - I called about a used HT at a LR approved dealer last week, it was high miles but MY11 (iirc) and it was up for £13,000. It had high miles (circa 75k) but it was sensible money. I called about another (really nice spec - all the packs), MY14 and that was up for £17k (probably retailed at £27+), low miles but it had also just been sold. I guess the key is to be active and be ready to pounce when you see a good one.

I have 2 I'm planning on viewing this weekend if they are still around by then. Don't have time to be looking at cars during the week.
It does look like some people are taking advantage of the situation and the cars are selling.
I'm ready to act though so hopefully something will pop up soon.
Ideally a better specced one would be nice, I've heard traction control is meant to be good Smile

We have "Carsales" here in Aus which lists new & used Defenders.
Total number for sale seems to be going down, and there do not appear to be any new 110s for sale. There may be some of course, but just not listed. The exception is the 110 Adventure,...surprisingly there are a few of those.
There are still quite a few new 90s for sale, we only have the S.W., and I notice that some Dealers haven't sdvertised a price. There are plenty of late model used vehicles for sale, and to be honest I thought I would've seen an upward movement in prices, but I haven't. Of course one always gets the lunatics asking stupid money, but these units do not usually sell for their advertised price.
None of this worries us, because we ain't buying or selling, but to be honest I thought I might have seen more upward prices in used vehicles than I have.

Yea there are several 110 Adventures here for sale, ready to go. But they are silly money.
More to the point, me being a business, I need a hard top for tax reasons. Would love a station wagon but it would cost me much much more.

Interestingly, I was offered one of the LEs in Hardtop format for list price yesterday from an approved dealer I called about a on-LE 90 hardtop.

So it seems not all are gouging and there is still unsold stock.

Very good.
There doesn't seem to be any left over here in Ireland. Import taxes and the exchange rate makes it cost prohibitive to bring a new one in from the UK.

I don't believe it's dealers inflating prices, it's people buying from dealers and selling on for immediate profit.
