Id suggest apart from rust proofing and thief proofing just drive it around for while before you do anything to it. After a few miles / months you will know what exactly what you want to do DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

you can get same grill as mine but in black (powder coated stainless steel)
my rims are restyle rims that have been banded to make them 8" wide fitted with 265 tyres for the retro look, roof painted to match, and fitted with black/tan landrover premium leather seats Click image to enlarge |

Why help?
Sort out a good tracker such as Tracker Locate, sort out security such as a good pedal lock, bonnet hinges etc. If it is going to be a keeper get it rustproofed. Other then that, drive it and enjoy it. After that slowly improve it to meet your actual needs. We have a new 90 XS HT, apart from the security aspect we have done nothing to it yet, despite having a unit full of goodies. Yes we are taking our time to try and ensure we get it right. Brendan |

I bought this poverty spec 2013 HT in December 2014:
Click image to enlarge Then added assorted security, installed a stereo and speakers, soundproofed it, added seat rails, had the roof wrapped, replaced the wheels/tyres, relocated the spare to the inside... Click image to enlarge Then added side windows, black DEFENDER bonnet lettering, clear light lenses, pimped the rear glass and had holes cut in the bumper ready for DRL install: Click image to enlarge Then had the wheel arches painted in Keswick and the grill, headlamp surrounds, bumper and crossmember all sprayed gloss black. Added an external temp sensor. Added a rear bench seat. Did the 99 relay upgrade. Installed a dashcam. Fitted gloss black mirror caps. Click image to enlarge Finally wired in DRLs and 2 days ago added the steering guard to finish the outside at least! Still to fit the rubber trim over window rivets but think the external transformation is complete. Subtle but stylish I feel Click image to enlarge I would echo the advice already given. Drive it for a while and decide what you want/need and what you like. There is so much out there to personalise your LR - you can pretty much have it any way you like but the cost will soon mount up. I elected to start with security, then comfort and then looks. Read the reviews and comments on this forum before you part with any cash as if it exists - someone on here has an opinion about it Most importantly - enjoy it! Phil |
