Apologies if this is a repeat, but I couldn't find much on search of this site or google.
I've seen the Entreq snorkel but can't believe the price, and surely it can't be the only snorkel around that doesn't require any drilling of bodywork etc? Want to fit a snorkel to the new 110 and really like the genuine Land Rover / Mantec style but don't want to drill two rivnut holes. Any suggestions? The main bracket is sandwiched between the bulkhead and the std bracket, sealed with sikaflex, doesn't vibrate and seems very stable , it's also made from stainless and powder coated

@davidwhittaker, I am curious to know why you do not want to drill the bodywork? 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

thanks for all the info guys, does really seem like theres a gap in the market here that enter are trying for!
To me it should be incredibly easy to do, just need to sandwich a plate behind the normal vent hole and bolt through the snorkel face on the outside, through the existing holes. WildCard, i want to be able to return the defender to standard if needed, and don't want to leave holes exposed. Maybe ill just get a mantec one and try and sort something myself... I personally think theyre by far the best looking snorkel around Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

I'll be bonding the top mount on my Safari, like another member did.

thanks Steve, think ill bond the upper mount too - seems easy enough. Just need to pick something that won't remove the paint if i wanted to remove it! Cheers, David

I'm not worrying about that - can't see why I'd ever want to remove.
Here is a SS bracket, it's actually K9F's and I've borrowed it I'm sure he won't mind. I hope! ![]() Lower mounting I still say certainly needs proper fixing too, the screen frame though as most of us know is good for starting to rot! Also the OE bracket is PC'd mild steel. ![]() Click image to enlarge |

I bonded my safari snorkel to the window frame with sikaflex, is used to bond things to the undersides of boats while still in the water. Its been on nearly a year now without budging, had to remove it for some warrenty work on the bulkead and the paint was fine underneat, just took a bit of scrubbing to get it off.
Just make sure you leave it a good 24 hours to set! I held mine in place with a ratchet strap to the roof rack while I was away for the weekend!! Is rock solid now!! |
