I think this could well be a precursor...
.. for the new Defender to REALLY make the old one 'history' YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

They are hardly going to say the jeep is rubbish though
That said Jeep has kept updating the wrangler, where land rover left the defender, hence its going Mike |

I have to confess I used to own a Wrangler and very nearly bought the 4 door version when they first launch in the UK .
Honestly I wish LR had kept updating the Defender as well as the Jeep has been. Of course herein lies the future potential of the new Defender. Everyone I know who works at, or one of the component suppliers to, JLR is seriously tight lipped about the new Defender and will only say that we will love it. I would be surprised (and gutted) if LR don't come out with a brilliant replacement to our beloved Defenders as they know the LR brand foundation is the Defender. Still worst case a 4 door wrangler with lift kit and lockers would be ok.....plus I still have my 90,110 and IIa Fixing Land Rovers for over 25 years..........and making excuses to the wife for almost as long 1984 110 V8 - Gone, but not forgotten.... |

Does appear to be very capable, but the looks are not at all to my tastes!

That grille on the Nene Underhand Defender is horrid.
I'm a fan of Wranglers, except they are so cheap in the States, we get 'rinsed' over here. If you look for the 'Wayalife' videos on youtube, you'll love what the JK can do. |

I looked at one, just a shame it cant match the tow capacity. Also after seeing one wasnt a car that i wanted to own, just seemed to 'American' and a bit to hairdresser-like

Yes, that 'Sway Bar' red button actually disconnects the sway bar to improve axle articulation. Pretty clever really! YOLO... You Only Live Once...

But not as clever as the ACE LR was fitting to Disco2 years ago!
I still think a lot of the Disco2 technology should have crossed over into Defender. |

I think that was fitted to the MkI RRS I had. It showed signs of a slight oil leak after only a few months. I thought it only needed a new seal but it was a non-serviceable part (at least at dealer level) - cost of a new one was £1,500.
Clever bit of kit but a complicated and expensive solution. |

They look awful IMO, I am not a nene fan, some of the styling ideas are just tacky Andy
