Ace on the D2 wasnt the same as the trick suspension on the sport, other than i suppose it was v1 of the system where the sport was more v3 Mike

4XOVERLAND: LAND ROVER DEFENDER VS. JEEP WRANGLER

http://expeditionportal.com/4xoverland-lan...-wrangler/

Stick with it or skip through - there are some interesting off road tests and results.

Off to google exactly how the Wrangler's sway bar disconnect works... Smile

Let us know when you find out Laughing

I can see why the comparison is being made and can see certain crossovers but I wouldn't want the Jeep.
I did look at a 4 door one once though, like the idea of taking the doors off in summer Smile Then I bought a Defender.

I think for certain people that buy a Defender then the Jeep could well be the better vehicle. I don't know how valid it is, but I have a sort of sliding scale in my head with the Jeep at one end, the Defender in the middle and a LC 70 series at the other end. The Jeep end being lighter, better axle articulation, more "leisure", etc, the Land Cruiser being heavier, tougher, more durable, more "worker". Defender being somewhere in the middle.

If I couldn't buy the Defender I have, then I'd have a LC 78 troopie. In fact I'm not sure I wouldn't prefer the Land Cruiser Embarassed not that you can get them here.

Jeeps are simply not for work

Men who work hard and play hard own Defenders.

Those who just want to play own Jeeps. ****CENSORED****

Had loads of older wranglers and one of the new generation, honestly loved them the older YJ had the fantastic 4.0l HO the newer one was good as well did like the fact that you can convert them from hard top to soft top in a few minutes. But then I got a defender and never looked back. Below a few of them, I do miss the white YJ

Honestly, I will be keeping my defender for life however, should it get stolen, I will just source another, and if I can't get one because they are too expensive by then...I will by a D4 or D5 or what ever the current model is at the time and do that up, but it wouldn't be a touch on the defender...
