Galvanise or not to Galvanise
Just purchased a Blacksheep X-member and before having it fitted, I am toying with the idea of having it galvanised.
I know some of the galvanise coating will have to be ground off when weldeing, but it seems a more durable finish than say painting it? 1999 Defender TD5 110

You can Galv and then paint if you like. Go for it as it is off if you can.
I would but I'd have to go through the faff of removing, galving and then paining most of the issue in removing.

I have some Dinitrol as well, which I will be using inside the box sections and on the underside of the x-member.
Given January is likely to be a wet/cold/possibly snowy month Galv will be some decent protection until summer comes and I can apply some paint. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Indeed. Ideally a new chassis, but not enough money in the pot for that. 1999 Defender TD5 110
