TD5 Breathing problems
My TD5 engine has started to show signs of breathing out the oil filler cap and dipstick tube, I've looked into diesel compression testers but can't find one that will work on the TD5 engine, does any one know of a kit that will fit the TD5.
Secondly is there any way identifying, if it's valve guides or worn bores before taking the head off?
What's the best solution if the bores are worn, rebore or a secondhand engine?

Personally I would go down the rebore route just for peace of mind, providing the company is reputable one.

I had thought about the injector seals but as I had replaced them about 3 years ago and18,000 miles thought they would be OK. Defiantly worth a look, could it be that simple, fingers crossed, thank you

Not sure of the mileage on engine, clocks have 187000, but it has had a later 15P engine fitted, the motor is a 2000 MY, I was told the original engine had the oil pump bolt issue at around 87,000. The vehicle was owned by EDF energy, however know one had the information if a new engine was fitted or a second hand one. I've own the car nearly 5 years and the guy I bought it off had it for two years, he bought it direct from EDF, the later engine had already been installed.
