Hi could it be injector seals giving off diesel vapour run the engine with the rocker cover off to see if its anything you can see

I had thought about the injector seals but as I had replaced them about 3 years ago and18,000 miles thought they would be OK. Defiantly worth a look, could it be that simple, fingers crossed, thank you

Not sure of the mileage on engine, clocks have 187000, but it has had a later 15P engine fitted, the motor is a 2000 MY, I was told the original engine had the oil pump bolt issue at around 87,000. The vehicle was owned by EDF energy, however know one had the information if a new engine was fitted or a second hand one. I've own the car nearly 5 years and the guy I bought it off had it for two years, he bought it direct from EDF, the later engine had already been installed.
