That's a beautiful machine Smudge.
Do you get any wind noise from your Mantec snorkel? Mine fairly hums at higher speeds... My blog - www.anacreinhampshire.blogspot.co.uk 110 TD5 BuildHERE - sold! 110 Tdci Build HERE - sold! Passat Alltrack - 4x4, auto, 45mpg, gloriously comfortable - but not a Defender! |

Thanks for the kind comments.
In answer to your questions: -
Only get wind noise from the Mantec Snorkel when going over 65+ and then can only hear it with the window open.
The left-hand radio is a Yaesu FT-8900 Quad Bander, and the right-hand radio is a Lafayette Trucker CB. I wouldn't say the console was hard to fit, but you do have to plan it out first and get all wires routed, etc. before installing it. Cutting the roof lining was the scarry part! Smudge |

Thanks, took a while to figure out and run the cables, I used fully shielded CAT6 data cable, and industrial weather-proof RJ45 sockets. Then just needed fit an RJ11 plug to the shielded cable to plug into the Yaesu radio, solder the original CB radio mic plug to the end of its shielded cable, and then to fit shielded RJ45 plugs to both of the mics, (only one mic, the one for the Yaesu radio, is plugged-in in the photo above). Seems to work okay. Smudge |

I have to say the mic mod is one of the best ive seen...everything else is nice, but no different - but that modification is neat - well thought out and something to be proud of...making the rest of the car somehow better. Mike |
