And I still cannot believe I managed to source the last genuine LR bullbar! It was gathering dust in a box in the main warehouse in Melbourne!!
I had persisted with this and a really helpful parts bloke was on side with me and after a few hours pressing, he came up trumps! The most amazing part of the whole story was the Bullbar was in the Melbourne warehouse, 400 miles away, yet they then air freighted the bullbar overnight up to me FOC!!! I was stunned as it's a heavy and big bit of kit! It fit's perfectly with the genuine LR aluminium steering guard as well YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Yes, the NSW scenery is nice mate!
I was thinking yesterday that I could actually dream of owning 3 Defenders... my Keswick 90, a Dual Cab with a khaki canvas cover and a original Series to restore and tinker with... YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Similar to my fantasies, except my 90 will partner the 110 Special and the Series IIA would be either a Safari or Rag Top and be pristine without me boogering it up...
Pete, can I ask where you picked up your blind spot mirror stickies mate... Is it a legal requirement in Aus to have the side & indicators in your bumper? ... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

Good spot Rog!
I got the 'blind spot' mirrors from a local OZ type Halfords store. Cheap too! Bumpers. Standard bumpers are the same. I think the deal with the Bullbar is because the bar structure can obscure the standard indicators, all bullbars here have them also fitted. It is a 'nanny state' now however! YOLO... Was out today... had two people come up and ask me if 'this was the Heritage'! I explained not, but they were both insistent that it was!!!
Perhaps I should have sold it there and then for a profit and bought another poverty spec Keswick Green one! Pretty neat that peeps have obviously read about the 'end of the line'... and they are genuinely interested in the whole Defender story. Lets hope JLR don't abandoned the market and leave us with just the current 'soft' offerings... YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

OEM Snorkel now fitted... imported to Oz in my Qantas baggage allowance (LOVE the A380!)!
Such an easy item to fit... 30 mins after my local dealer kindly used their RivNut tool to fit the nuts for me... FOC :>) MUCH quieter now and I am sure it will reduce the dust accumulation on outback Oz roads.. Went for a drive up to the Illawarra Escarpment today... those of you planning a trip from the UK must go and have a gander in the area... simply beautiful! It's clear why the first settlers name this area 'New South Wales'... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge SO Green! YOLO... You Only Live Once... |

Hi Pete the countryside looks familiar and your ninety looks fabulous. Was nice meeting you that day, you know coincidence is just a science we dont understand.
Daktari is back with what must have been the second last of those OE bull bars. Heading into the Simpson desert in June who knows we may meet in the outback Cheers Al |

G'Day Pete, check out "Nugget Stuff", they have a better "waterproof" ducting system for your snorkel to the engine,...apparently the original ducting is not too flash.

Thanks Martin, yes know about this one!
The OEM intake pipe is a 'push fit' affair... certainly not waterproof. If I was going 'wading', I would indeed fit the Nugget Stuff kit. However, my RIA is purely to reduce dust into the air filter... apparently this does help! It may however be something that I will do as the larger tubing looks much better for better induction air flow. Cheers, Pete YOLO... You Only Live Once... |
