o.kv
read a few forum topics on changing gearbox oil and filling swivel housing with grease ....got stuff ready 1). 3 ltrs difflock eb=volution1 synthetic oil 2). T55 1/2 in beastie to unto filler plug 3). 32 mm spanner to undo drain plug 4).Couple of sachets of one shot grease 5). Draper oil suction pump 5). might as well replace tht dead reversing bulb while I'm at it. Under car, undo filler plug .... and get that warm feeling of liquid runnng down my left arm. Oh yes, hard standing outside garage has a lean to it ... the wrong way o.k. lets drain this ... so wheres the 32 mm drain plug ? ...nope its a 1/2 in square hole threaded plug .... needn't have bought it .... guess an R380 gearboc is different to an LT77 managed to get about 2.3 ltrs into it before it starrts leaking again .... coz its on a slope. Tighten up everything and drive 1/2 mile to village hall which does have a flat area infront of it. Get another ~400ml into it. Job done. Swivel housings :- o.k these haven't had anyone near them for a while get the "bit of pipe" out for these occasions to shift filler plug. One shot grease in boiling water for a while went in a treat. o.k. now for the simple stuff undo reversing light .... need to remove the light protector covering all the LHS coz I can't get the light fitting out without doing that. does it work ? course not, its something else. Just as I was refitting the light protector .... the top of the license plate light fell off. Well wanted an LED one after all. ok.. that's that one done. not for the Series 3 ...... Santa - 1977 Series 3 - new chassis, tub, disc brakes,SU Carb Gertie - 1999 110 TD5 - like a Phoenix from the ashes back on road... almost Effie - 2004 110 TD5 County |

It looks as though the quality control went missing when mine went though. I don't want to publish the name of the company as they do not have a right to reply on here. I was rather bad tempered when I found the problems having waited 5 weeks for it to arrive. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Used my rivnut tool for the first time to insert new riv nuts for the refurbed light guards to be fitted. A lot easier than I thought it would be don't know why I have been putting off drilling out the 2 old rusted rivnuts and doing this for so long.
Any way newly powder coated guards where fitted with stainless fitting including p clips as I don't like the plastic ones and I am very pleased with them now considering when they came off they where rusty and flaking their plastic coating.
