Aha, the era of spot-welded wings and "afterthought" exterior door handles! Very nice 80" and nice to see Avon TM tyres again.
Those trafficators would now cost more than the first 80" I bought. |

To cut a long story short I sold her around 14 yrs ago, regretted it, purely by chance spotted her up nurth, managed to get her back as owner was emigrating and sympathetic. Needed quite a bit of work doing so took her to Russel Hearne ( genius) and all the credit should go to him. I just polish and enjoy. Maybe worth a bit now but not for sale, my 9 yr old has his eyes on her!
Needed a new chassis, wiring loom , paint job , engine rebuild , but otherwise was all fine. Not concours but didn't want that ie no new galvanising if possible and seats still a little worn. I do take her off road in a pretty steep farming valley but I still try and avoid the mud, sad as it sounds, as I'm enjoying this level of perfection...it'll only go downhill from here even if it takes many years to do so. I love her and it seems that a lot of people love old landys wherever I go. Hi Sib.
Your obviously a LRSOC club member, are you on the forum? It's just that I've never spotted the reg plate before! Russell certainly did a cracking job, I've seen a few of his restorations, and they are very nice indeed. Maybe our paths will cross at some point? I would love to see it. Your Not going to Malvern in January by any chance? Ian 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Hi Ian
Thanks for comments. Yes I'm a LRSOC member but somewhat inactive I'm afraid, also couldn't work out how to upload pics. Not sure I'll get to Malvern in Jan ( this may change but depends on work, children) but hope to get to one of the shows next year. You are most welcome to come and have a look, drive if you are ever passing near M4 J18 Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Sib Bath UK 1952 80 inch 1973 88 inch 2018 Morgan plus 4 narrow body |
