Yes, FK was British Army 1970/71 - as a left hand drive it might have done service in West Germany - maybe explains why it ended up in Poland?

I would suggest contacting the Series 2 Club and joining their forum at series2club.co.uk
If anyone can tell you more, it will be one of the guys there, I have a S2A (not a lightweight) and can always rely on useful guidance from them. Cheers Luke 1970 Series 2A 88" |

I have obtained a B Card of my truck
So it is 1971, LHD, delivered to Antwerp for BAOR. Service ended in 1979 in Germany. 2021 Defender 90 D250 1998 TUL 1997 TUM FFR 2003 Defender 110SW Td5 1985 ExMOD 110 ST 3.9 V8 1971 Series IIa Lightweight |

That's interesting Tomek, I wonder what made you think it was a 1978 model though... Almost as interesting is that it served its time in BAOR during the same decade I did mine... I wonder if it was even lucky enough to be one of the Lightweights I was fortunate to pilot around Germany from time to time... Rog... The GREEN One... I had a few lightweights back in the 80s and 90s and they used to register them when they left the mod with that years date. I had a 1973 one than was demobbed in 1983 and was given a 'Y' plate and a first date of registration as 1983.
I believe theye've changed it now so that the registration plates reflect the age of the vehicle (hence a 1985 110 will always get a 'C' plate from 1985 etc) |

B-Card says 1971 and off duty in 1978
Dutch registration papers saying - first registration 1978 So I assume they took off duty date. But my happiness is growing; some people saying it is the only SIIA LW in Poland and overall quite rare one  Another question on the registration plates - I would like to order the black-sliver ones with original military numbers (for shows). what is the right set-up? 1 or 2 (front and rear)? square or oblong ones? thanks guys fro support 2021 Defender 90 D250 1998 TUL 1997 TUM FFR 2003 Defender 110SW Td5 1985 ExMOD 110 ST 3.9 V8 1971 Series IIa Lightweight |

Rosco
Just remember that many older LWTs have oblong No. Plates on the rear . On the bottom tailgate with taillight above it . That's where mines is meant to be but I have square on the left and no silver edging should be there . Click image to enlarge |
