Nice one!
BTW, if it's 1978, that makes it a Series 3, not a series 2A, the last of the 2A's were in 1972 Not many things changed though, syncromesh on all four gears and the ignition switch moved from the dash to the steering column. Think the chassis is slightly different as well? |

beautiful truck camelman
those indicator and side lights on the front - are they "special" or std series ones? I see the silver rims around at the bottom end of lamps. History of my truck.... well... it came from Holland and that is everything I know at the moment. I hope the heritage Certificate will tell me more |

That's brilliant. I can just imagine summer drives to a lovely country pub for an ale down by a babbling brook.... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Mine is a 24v 1985 model (one of the last 3 built )
I believe the side / indicator lens are part of the 24v set up or the later models but not 100% sure there is an excellent book you need to buy which has a history of the all the batches, even down to chassis numbers, called "the half ton military landrover" https://wordery.com/the-half-ton-military-...GwoduQoGPg Grenadier - you have to try not to smile too much when driving to the pub as you end up with teeth full of flies |

Interesting , that chassis number does in fact mean its a series 2 (and possibly worth a bit more due to rarirty), 1969-71.
It appears to have a british military registration stamped on there as well. You find with a lot of earlier lightweights that their registration documents show the date they were sold out of the forces rather than their build date. In your case 1978 is possibly when it was sold by the army rather than built. |
