I went through this same exercise a few years ago on a 2003 TD5 ( sold now ) and in the end I went for an Eberspacher for no other reason than they had the closest installer to me. I personally couldn't differentiate between the 2 brands.

Having said that I can't fault the Eberspacher it was a great bit of kit and never caused me any problems.

I live near Winchester. Could you say who you used if you were happy with the work.
Thank you.

Hi

At the time I wasn't working in Winchester so I used a Swindon based company near work.

Halls Electrical Ltd
Unit 1, Clearwater Business Park,
Frankland Road,
Blagrove,
Swindon,
Wiltshire,
SN5 8YZ

Not too far from Eastleigh mind but they did need the vehicle for 2 days, they do a lot of electrical work for the police and highway patrols so the standard is high.

I've got an Webasto Thermo Top C fitted to my 110 and I love it. One of the best mods I've made!! Cant beat jumping into a nice toasty car in the morning. Saves engine wear too. I opted for the long range remote, the timer unit and Ive also got an override Carling switch. The override is because you can only run it for an hour on the timer unit. Want to do an overland through the Nordic countries in winter and fancy leaving it running to give the engine a chance of staying warm when its not under load.

i have a termo Top C in my tdci, and had the same in my td5 previously, have always used Webasto, seems to be more knowledge on them out there and more bits in breakers should the need arise. having said that both mine were new. Cheers

I Have just fitted a Webasto thermotop into mine.

Took a bit of brain scratching and a little bit of trial and error but it now seems to be working fine Thumbs Up
