Nothing to do with Land Rovers....
Having a daughter with special needs we attend a lot of things with her including an annual Christmas party. One year I was asked to don a Winnie the Pooh costume and mingle with the participants. Glad to assist I agreed. The main body or torso of Pooh had a full length zip at the back so once on someone zipped me up and I just plonked on the head and entered the room.
Unfortunately the eyeholes in the head did not align with mine 100% so visibility was hit and miss. I kept bumping into things, especially chairs and tables. I remember one child telling it's mother that Winnie the Pooh had said a bad word. This was after I'd hit my knees off something hard for the umpteenth time.
"Winnie the Pooh, wouldn't say a thing like that" said the mother.
Unfortunately her illusions were shattered when I had a mishap with a table stacked with empty trays.
The coup the gras came later when I was out in the hall trying to exit the Winnie the Pooh suit unassisted. It is only when I twisted the head and removed it that I saw a young child watching me. She exited the hall in hysterics looking for her mother. She probably had nightmares for weeks thinking of Winnie's contortions prior to his head being removed!!!
Like I said nothing to do with Land Rovers except for the fact that we drove there and back in one. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Many, many years ago an ex of mine talked me into playing Santa for the pre - school where she worked. No problem I thought but come the day I had contracted a stinking cold complete with hacking cough and streaming nose. Duly togged up in heavy costume with hood, wig and beard I soon discovered that the classrooms were like a damned furnace which resulted what must have been the sweatiest, snottiest Father Christmas ever. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]

The mere mention of having to dress up in a Father Christmas costume could soon be having this thread transferred to the Grumpy Old Man thread Whistle
