Hi Guys,
Bit of a bind here. Long story short, Drove out to the Netherlands last Monday for a well earned holiday. Holiday going well until horrendous attacks in France last night. I knew there would be much stronger border checks on the way back so I double checked all our paperwork to make sure it was in order. Much to my disbelief my V5 is missing, I rang home and yes it was found at home on the table in a folder marked IMPORTANT I have got everything else but for some reason the V5 never made it into my travel pack. I mm leaving here for home on Monday Afternoon so time is against me (aka I cant get it posted out to me) Any suggestions on what to do? I don't want my 110 impounded Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

I was routinely stopped in la Rochelle last week, masses of Police about, the road out northbound had police with stop sticks ready, unmarked cars etc.
Offered insurance, MOT & license and was sent on my way - never wanted the V5 Good luck Keith |

As a thought, can you get it scanned and print it off your end, I never have the originals with me!

I have all the other paperwork I need bar this - absolutely fuming with myself
Will ask my dad tomorrow to Scan and Email it to me and hopefully we will be able to find a nice person with a printer who can print it out. If not, quick shopping trip to the Dutch equivalent of currys for a cheepo printer! Otherwise I have Certificates of Insurance, My DVLA Code and Card and E111 Card and Passports, Bank Cards so hopefully all will be well. Wish me luck for Monday Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

To be fair, I wouldn't print it off. Get it scanned mailed to you and then just keep an electronic copy.
From my working background if we came across someone who had originals of every other document and a scanned copy (forgery?) of the vehicle document it would ring alarm bells. So be safe, tell them the mistake and that you only have an electronic copy. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

Well in the end we never needed it!
On the E40 we got a stern looking at from 15 policeman and 4 police dogs at a impromptu border crossing they had made out of a roundabout, in Calais we got a brief glance and a wave from a pair of policemen in a van and then the usual touch up from the friendly people who work for the border forces. All in all, quite a nice pleasant drive. 200Tdi did very well purring along and averaged 32mpg so all in all, wonderful trip. Though lesson learned for next time, let Miss Shaggydog double check the paperwork Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Evidently French Intellgence has ruled out that Suicide Bombers or ISIS terrorists will be trying to enter the country disguised as a Dulux Dog driving a Defender. S**t, I hope I haven't given them any ideas.... Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

That's a very generous offer Veetee thank you! We went to De kampervennen at the Centre Parcs - had a wonderful time rock climbing, swimming, snowboarding and lots of riding of bikes and eating lots and drinking beers If I'm passing any time soon will let you know and arrange a meet up, I'm always happy to meet forum members Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |
