It can be sometimes also that the cable doesn't slide back into the cable sheath and bends instead.
The Puma has these control cables so a TD5 probably has some too I expect. They are like a bike brake cable, plastic outer braided steel wire inner. If it isn't this it'll likely be trapped or jammed as suggested above. ![]() |

I'm having exactly the same issue with my TD5. I'll post when I get it sorted out.

Could even be as simple as the lever needs lubing ... give it a squirt of WD40 or similar through the slot first - you never know

The cable inner binds in the outer most commonly due to a lack of lubrication. A good spray of wd40 into both ends of the cable outer and work the lever up and down gently until it starts to free off.
If the cable inner is bowing at the lever end and not moving in the outer at all then it really needs a new cable but I have got away with reversing the nipple in the holder ie. Turning it through 180° so that the bow leads into the outer rather than bowing around the end of the outer. It will be quite difficult to turn the nipple around as there will be a lot of spring in the inner, some long nosed pliers and a bucket of patience will help 😊 HTH Mo The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen. 50 Shades of Pennine Grey |

The latter is my current issue. When I have the time and bravery I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
