Thumbs Up Nope !

I'm quite comfortable that they aren't to blame - not to say I didn't have my suspicions at one time but now as part of my pre-ignition checks I not only confirm the angle from horizontal of both visors I also measure the flex-factor of both (as we all know when you put them fully up they always flex back down a little) and they are within tolerance.

furthermore (better safe than sorry) I always ensure the mirror on the passenger visor is kept clean to ensure there is the correct amount of heat reflected onto the roof lining to ensure torsional stiffness across the roof and B pillars is maintained as clearly any diagonal mis-alignment in this area would have a disastrous effect on the ecm and intern the rate of corrosion within the side steps.............I will of course we double checking later just to be sure now you've got me thinking.

while I'm at it I'll have another look at the fuel filter (to make sure I've not now over tightened it)

I also need to review some of my music as this seems to play havoc with my mind and mysterious sounds that often turn out to be some dodgy 80's music.

once again Steve thanks for you assistance in bringing to my attention further possible areas of concern. Thumbs Up

To be fair 'tangent' does sound a more specific terminology for a Caterhamism, Rolling Eyes such as a given point that just touches but not interconnecting or in Caterham’s vocabulary a completely different line of thought or action to that of anyone else… Laughing For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I would say picking random parts of the vehicle off the top of my head and throwing money at them in the hope it'll make a tractor as smooth as a Bentley very "unique" indeed Ray

just in case any is interested / not too sure how far the fuel filter should screw on Thumbs Up

left to right. first mark is where the filter presses into position,
second mark is how far my filters have been filtered
third mark to the best of my knowledge is fully engaged.

Not even remotely interested in the filter....but....is that rust I see forming under your truck? Wonder what caused that and the implications of it? The possibilities are endless.

Shocked

where ! there shouldn't be any after I linked the return feed from the second fuel injector to the chassis earth. my calculations suggested this could be operate successfully as a form of cathodic protection (of which you'll be aware of with the boats). the idea being I only really need protection while on the move ie driving through puddles. - this leads me to wonder if the fuel filter is just another read herring and what may be happening is the injector is / has burnt out due to the reduced resistance on the earth path?

looks like the injectors are going to have to come out after all to be sure. while I'm at it perhaps I should also check for silicone content on the MAF sensor which may have been dragged through the air filter due to regular cleaning of the intake grille with silicone spray to keep it looking good, and naturally while in the area perhaps it would be advisable to check the bumper end caps as clearly if they're not securely properly any resonances could be entering into the drl feed and causing harmonic distortion which might back feed into the permanent live and have all sorts of knock on effects.

looks like I'm going to be busy for a few nights Sad

- but thanks all the same for pointing out this potential problem Thumbs Up

Very welcome. Not a minute to spare to get it sorted your cathodic protection is inadequate. Cool If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
