I'm getting it delivered free from Southampton to my home in a van. Having done the bad weather biker bit I am now a fair weather one only, it is cold, it is Winter and it may rain, snow or be icy on the day. The offer of free delivery was a no brainer. As soon as possible, need to buy new kit as my Dainese etc was sold as it will not be in-keeping with the Harley Davidson. No I will not be buying any chaps!

Yes to all of the above Bow down now like you, I'm just trying to acquire the "right" kit, whilst avoiding looking like a complete SOA wannabe.

That's a work of art - not sure what it would be like to ride, but I could find a corner of my man cave to park it in. Thumbs Up

As an all weather/365 days a year rider averaging around 50k a year my money gets spent on BMW StreetGuard. An excellent fit, loads of protection, armour etc. Nice and warm with loads of vents etc for the summer time and as water proof as a big bag of waterproof things!! I don't think it'd look out of place on a Harley either as I ride all sorts of bikes and wear it on pretty much all of them.

Note - I have nothing to do with BMW except I wear their kit and occasionally ride their bikes, which I don't rate for reliability at all.

Some of mine

I'm surprised about your comment on reliability. BMWs always have been so well engineered (or so I thought) that riding them can be quite staid. I found it so when swapping my Daytona for my cousin's BMW R1100 in Germany in the Moselle. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

The S1000RR was dropped off at BMW on Weds with its 6th electrical problem. It's a 14 plate on 23k. Had a new quick shift, 2 new sumps, the traction control has always been a problem, number plate holder came off and jammed in the rear wheel once. Previously had a 2008 K1200S which caused me no end of problems. When they are working, they are fantastic bikes, I just found they don't work well very often.

That said today's steed is the R1200R loaner, it's riding well and the heated grips are the best I've experienced haha.

In my experience, for reliability go Japanese, Italian for looks and BMW if you've the patients of a saint and money to burn.

Defo check out the BMW clothing though!!! Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!
