Hello stanley
It's a confusing story if you look into this, illegal or not, the potential damage some of these could do to someone who survived being hit by a Defender, only to end up on the bonnet doesn't bear thinking about. Maybe try something else... SKIP https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic83242.html |

I think if they've been hit by a Defender a small bonnet ornament is the least of their worries to be fair. 110 D250 SE HT

Take a look on the Le Jeune mascot website as it used to be addressed on there ....yes indeed it is ...mindful of course that they have a vested interest in the subject http://louislejeune.com/mascots_english_law.php
I had a Le Jeune Labrador on my previous two Puma's, mounted with body tape to the rear of the bonnet bulge. Both vehicles and previous Defenders that I had the mascot on both got through the MoT's ok but as always an MoT means diddly squat in such matters. As an aside I had cause to stop and have words with local traffic plod who was parked up close to home a couple of years back, before I left him he mentioned the mascot out of the blue and stated that even though it was mounted to the rear of the bonnet in his view it still might be questionable in terms of the law and stuck to his opinion even after mentioned it was fixed on with body tape so it would easily break off in the event of an impact. I haven't bothered with the mascot on the latest Puma so it sits on one of the mantlepieces instead. Steve. Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

What about bonnets with spare wheel mountings
Click image to enlarge Not to mention pioneer tools, aerial mountings, etc... Click image to enlarge . Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated Paul. 1989 Arles Blue 2.5TD 110 Hardtop 1999 Epsom Green Discovery II 4.0 V8i 'XS' |
