I think they are right about it going on for a while...
When I collected my new 90 in September it was touch and go whether the step was going to arrive in time as they were on back order then as well. (bear in mind I had placed the order before the end June cut-off, although I don't know at what point the dealer actually tried to get the step in). |

I've got the same story from my main dealer but with no indication of when the supply will be sorted.
I am wondering if the issue is related to the number of warranty claims they have been getting on them and whether the break is hopefully down to them having a re-design of the elements that keep failing. It's interesting that the Autobiography in the dealers was fitted with a different version of the rear step bumper. It was shorter and so didn't have the bolts to the rear crossmember outer edges and the treadplate was bright aluminium chequerplate. |

I ordered a step/bumper in Sept and it has just arrived at the dealers, they told me that the manufacturers had supplied LR with a large batch of faulty steps that had to be returned, hence the backlog.

Can you post up some photos when you get it - interested to see if anything has changed - principally whether the issues with the thin metal plate under the rubber matting remain.

I've got a warranty case for my rear step with Land Rover at the moment
Although it is with the paint shop as it is surface rust through the paint and bubbling also. =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

New rear step bumper fitted by dealer yesterday, the rubber tread is already lifting off in places, therefore another warranty issue raised with them
Although they kindly (haha) left the original folding rear step in the car, will post for sale when I have site permissions. |

I got one from 4wheelin, with the 2" NAS tube, but they do std euro 2 hole as well, got it shipped to the dealer,
seems very good quality, came with chequer plate, and the dealer fitted it at PDi. http://www.4wheeln.co.uk/shop2/product.php?id_product=202 Click image to enlarge 2015 90 XS SW Bowler 1998 TD5 CSW |

I like that but how's it fixed back to the chassis - it doesn't seem to have the 2 large bolts just above the treadplate? |

Supercat - I think the screws in the rubber may be 'fake' or not connected as at least one lifts with the rubber, but the dealer will have to sort either way.
