I had thought of that but I think it looks wrong not taking the tubular bars to the very edge of the rear cross member.

They do seem to have the ali chequer plate tops though.

Supacat - there are two large diagonal braces underneath that bolt to the chassis frame, you can't see them from the angle. 2015 90 XS SW Bowler

I think the short style look great. Looks neater. I got mine from "first four" a month or so ago.. Full size 110 Land Rover part. Andy

Supercat - I think the screws in the rubber may be 'fake' or not connected as at least one lifts with the rubber, but the dealer will have to sort either way.

Here's what my OEM one's like:

There are 8 bolts that attach the rubber mat. Not sure if the bolts and nuts where all plastic, mine are now and I added some black plastic washers to stop the bolts just pulling through the rubber.

OEM has those braces also. I'm just comparing it to the OEM item; also the other versions of the item they produce has the plate for the two central bolts, so I wonder why this one doesn't?

. Does it also have the right angle plate that fits to the lower face of the rear cross member?

Yes it does, and has two bolts into the cross member. I don't tow anything heavy, (mountain bike rack and small boat) but still might get an extra fixing welded on for the two bolts just above the tread plate Very Happy 2015 90 XS SW Bowler

What are the rules on a warranty replacement for one of these (and any other item I guess). If replaced within the warranty period does the clock start ticking again for a 12 month/3 year period or is it just the remaining period of the original warranty?

I'm wondering if you make a warranty claim right at the end of your warranty and the item arrives after the expiry of the warranty then you effectively get no warranty on the replacement item?

All LR warranties apply to the vehicle not the parts and are based on the vehicle warranty start date.

If you have a 3 year warranty, and after 2 years and 11 months you have a part replaced, the warranty on the part will be one month only.

In effect Landrover is warranting the assembled vehicle for the period.

I looked into this in some detail when the PAS box on my Disco 2 failed about 3 months before warranty end, and the replacement (supplied under warranty) then failed one month after the vehicle warranty expired. The second replacement was down to me, despite the "new" box having only lasted 4 months!

Thanks - I was hoping that was not the case but expecting it to be so.

As the rear step bumper is an aftermarket part/dealer fit I was hoping it came with a 12 month warranty irrespective of the vehicle warranty it was being fitted to.
