TD5 90 slight hesitation
My TD5 90 has developed a very slight hesitation at low revs, just enough that when driving slowing in 3rd (around 20mph) it feels a little like the throttle has stuck, so I need to press it further to get it going. But as I say, the effect is very subtle, but noticeable.

I've checked for oil in the ECU harness and that is dry.

The fuel filter was changed and it made no difference.

Just wonder where I should look for solutions to the problem..?

It could be the low range switch, from what I understand it reduces the throttle sensitivity when you go into low range so the car isn't like all jerky.

Sounds like it may be similar to a hesitation I had on mine for the last few months.

Mine has just be serviced and I asked them to check the fuel pressure regulator and replace if need be. I had the normal diesel smell from the engine bay and slight leak.

Apparently the FPR was well past it's sell by date and was duly replaced.

Hesitation has now gone. This was the only thing done apart from fluids etc so maybe that was the cause ?

I should add, it problem was only apparent below approx 1500 rpm.

Thanks Bob, yes mine is at low revs once it gets moving it runs just fine.

Will look at the FPR, once I figure out where it is...Smile

Drivers side of the engine, right at the back. It is above the starter motor.

If you look from underneath you will see fuel weeping from it if the seals have gone.

I never knew they could cause any running problems so I will check with the garage tomorrow to see if there was anything else done that resolved the problem - I am sure they would have told me if they had done anything else and the bill only shows the FPR replacement and service.
