Afternoon all,
I have read many posts on here and elsewhere with conflicting information regarding dual batteries in a TD5 battery box. I am really just looking for anyone with a TD5 (or TDi/puma if the battery box is in fact the same, which I am not sure is the case) who has two batteries fitted and which designation/size they are. I was planning on using a pair of batteries from Tayna, Enduroline CXV-X 1000 (used to be branded Numax): https://www.tayna.co.uk/Enduroline-CXV-X-1000-Amp-P9008.html The feedback and price of these is very good and I originally read reviews of people who had managed to fit two side by side into the defender battery box. However I have since read on a few forums that they do not fit in the TD5 box. I am not interested in spending the money on odyssey, optima etc and want a matched pair. Can anyone with a TD5 who has twin batteries successfully fitted post the details of the batteries, any modification required to fit and if possible a picture of them fitted please? Thanks in advance Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

thats the batteries I'm after! though I'm a 300tdi. I'm pretty sure the seatboxes are the same. I'm going to go with the flat dog twin batt strap. and modify it like in this vid
the batteries he uses are same height but slightly shorter than the endurolines. My 109 thread my youtube channel |

Yes I have those Numax's in the seat box of my TD5 110. Super batteries, been in there 4/5 years. No problems.
Built a simple frame to hold them in place with 2"X 1/2" box (H pattern), threaded bar and a thin strap across the top. Actually that originally came from my 200tdi defender, battery boxes are the same. Hope that helps. |

Ah yes that is an issue and I did come across the same problem, but just shortened the threaded bar and stepped the fixing strap to suit. Seemed fair,y logical at the time and has worked well for nearly ten years or so.
If it will help I can take some photos when the 110 is back from the shop. |

i also have 2 x Numax which i think are 29s again in my puma - they fit there ok too! Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |
