Switch illumination
Hi,

I have had a search but nothing has come up answering my question specifically.

I am about to install 6 carling switches into the shiny dash of my puma. Most of the posts I have looked at have said you can run an illumination feed from an existing switch. This seems ok for 1 switch, but can I link all 6 switches to the same feed of an existing switch or will this draw to much?

Thanks

If you are unsure you could run a light feed a put a relay in it.

I dont know about carling swtiches but the light is usually low draw anyway. I wouldnt have an issue with 3 or 4 off 1 feed Mike

Should be absolutely fine to connect 6, they are illuminated by leds so 6 from the same connection will be ok Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Are all the current illuminations run off 1 circuit?

Does anyone have a wiring diagram?

The current draw per switch is stupidly low ive got 10 switches with their ilumination being fed of the dash dial bulb feed with no issues.

Dash bulbs are 1.2w IIRC.
So current draw is approx 0.8A - 1.1A Max

Within sensible limits (i.e. not 1000!) you can run all your switch illumination from the Red/Orange factory wiring.

What illumination method are the Carling switches, LED or bulb?  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
