Thanks for all the comments everyone!

Ouch!

Hope you get that sorted easily.

... 'small mod with UT'...!

Impossible! Laughing

True, it sounds impossible Very Happy Visiting UT was like a candy shop for a Defender enthusiast. ‘Luckily’ I have no budget for fancy mods so managed to keep it reasonable and went with only what was planned – will post a pic later! Got some tasty pictures of trucks on display so will add those too.

Have to also say that UT were pleasure to deal with! I was only in for a small upgrade and they treated me really nice - like I was buying one of their 50k+ trucks. From start to finish they were prompt, courteous and very professional - top notch team and excellent quality of craftsmanship Thumbs Up Big thanks to Lee and Adam Bow down

Deffo a new outer wing needed. price up a few estimates, It is a simple bolt on job so maybe get a body shop to spray a new wing up and get a local garage to do the swap or maybe yourself if you are feeling handy with the spanners.

Hope it's sorted soon...

Yep, doing that, trying to get few estimates. I have to admit I only just finished changing door bolts to SS ones and it was like climbing Mt Everest for me Embarassed So I will have to leave this to more capable hands.

Double ouch - what did that, looks like a minor meteorite hit Question

It does look like a meteor hit! Just a bloody cut back tree/hedge trunk well hidden behind leafs and waiting for me…

Some would say (as above) its adds character...also as a friend said about my last, put a dent in it then you wont be bothered using it properly!

I cant say i agree though

It does look more ‘proper’ now that’s for sure Very Happy

And would it have stayed on, I would indeed be more oblivious to further damage. Since the truck is so new, I will treat her to a full repair though. That doesn’t mean I will stop using it properly. Perhaps once she has one too many of these…

Looks like more than just wing damage tho? New front panel, bonnet and wing to me?

Question Shocked errr no. Just the wing, although it does have three main parts.

Not the end of the world Thumbs Up

Fair points – thought initially to only change the wing and repair the top wing and front panel. My dad told me though that aluminium gets a bit tricky once bent around too much, loses strength and will probably need quite a bit of filler so recommended I should replace those panels, unless I want to make sure I save some bucks on the repair. I don't have much clue tbh so will try to follow his advice. I think I’ll try to get them replaced if affordable.

Spot on though – not the end of the world! Actually, I feel more relaxed driving it around now for some strange reason. MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html

A small mod done by UT for me - excellent service, great finish. Wifey will be using my 110 for several weeks now Shocked Hoping that the rear step with parking sensors will help to prevent the worst from happening - fingers crossed!

Have also posted some pics of the UT beauties that I saw while there - have a look, worth it. There was a 110 USW converted to Autobiography, looked ace!

Simon, I don't even dare to estimate the delivery date Very Happy It was supposed to come end of October, now it's end of November. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being December.

For now I'm on Zipcar and trains Wink And occasionally my '89 Golf, although that has developed problems with ignition so not reliable atm Sad

Nice one Jk! Do you think those mantek guards could handle the weight of a fire extinguisher?

Cheers,

Thanks Simon, anything we can do to protect our precious Defenders Wink

Hi Ant, I think it would take an initial knock, but anything more than that, it would eventually let go. Would require some effort, noise and a bit of mess to get through Thumbs Up Considering the quarter windows can be pushed in with a 50 pence coin and a bit of a push, it should be an improvement Wink MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html

Interesting...

But it would have to be a new born baby to get through these tiny windows! How can this be a security issue?? Question YOLO... You Only Live Once...
