Pending error code P1103 on my scanguage
Hello

Almost the first couple of weeks after owning my Puma Defender I had the EML light on, took it in and the garage said it was probably a faulty MAF sensor? so they cleaned it and put it back In.

Since then I have bought a scanguage.

I now get an error code 'pending error code P1103' each time I drive the car, it beeps I press a button to cancel the message on the guage

Nothing on dash and drives fine,

Can I remove this pending error? when I go into settings there is nothing to reset?

Common code on the puma engine, MAF sensor higher than expected reading.

nothing to worry about, just delete it, as long as it's not throwing the light up on the dash continuously. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

That's the thing it will not let me perminantly delete it, nothing on the dash.

Each time I turn the car on it beeps and then I disable alarm by clicking the down button.

Some cars do have permanent trouble codes you can not delete.
I had 2 on an Iveco the other day, you can not delete them, never came across any on a Defender before.

Not sure how the scan gauge is set up for this, You may have to just play about with it? 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Do a search under 'Nuisance Codes' or 'P1103.' If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Hi, I had these codes on my previous and on my current Defender. Is the amber engine light on?

On my previous car, the P1103 appeared due to a dirty sensor - the one that sits in front of the air filter box. You can install a new one yourself. Part No. was MHK501040.

On my current Defender, the fault (appearing again) is probably connected to my faulty EGR. When the EGR fails to open at it should, the engine pulls more fresh air from the intake, and it triggers the fault code.

Other people will have other symptoms, it's something that comes up for all kinds of reasons.

Hello

I'm now pretty used to seeing the screen pop up with pending code....I just suspend it and it goes away.

A few times I've had the engine management light pop up and again, no panic just reset it...

However recently it's done it more often, It seems always on a motorway (it does not like them) Very Happy

During the week I'm nice country roads and its happy

Do I need to actually worry? any other car would be back to garage if this code pops up... but I can just reset it (engine management light) and it drives the same with code on or off...

How much is a new part for this and if fitted should that clear the code poping up

Thanks

MAF is around 125, not changed mine ever.
Never needed to but maybe I should?

Anyway, yes, that is genuine price. Gary @ Alive knows the OE manufacturer though who is cheaper. NEVER SURRENDER! ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

The MAF does go wrong, but the EGR valve goes wrong more often and triggers MAF sensor faults.
They also do just pop up random codes when nothing is really the matter too.

Is it the EGR I can have blanked off? if I have a remap say?

Would this stop the code or fix it on?

Yes, mine is blanked and electronically shut down on my Alive tune.

I git MAF codes when my EGR played up, my faulty EGR is still there but rendered dead. (Thank-goodness)
And the blank is just a physical peace of mind, you can't just blank it without the tune though.
Rarely anyone gets that to work without issues. NEVER SURRENDER! ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧
