The difflock switch creates a ground path for the lamp and from what you've said it sounds like everything is OK
With the switch connected up are you getting continuity to ground at the blue/black at the dash connector when difflock is engaged? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Tried using a couple of different earth locations ( currently earthed to the Transfer Box) but still no luck.
Checked the copper strip on the dash lights and thats all good and working. |

Not sure if this is covered by your post above so apologies if it's stating the obvious, but is the switch definitely adjusted properly? You can wind them in and out until the plunger of the switch makes contact with the lever at it's engaged position.

Freypal, Cheers for the reply, Im assuming it is adjusted correct as in normal mode the switch has no continuity but when in difflock I get continuity. Also doesnt explain why the light doesnt come on when I earth the cable !!! Cheers thou

Odd, on the wiring diagram power is sent to the switch via the dash so if you're getting 12v at the plug on the blue wire it should work. Can't see how its anything other than the earth from the switch to ground.
What happens if you bypass the switch and try earthling the blue wire directly with ignition on? |

Nothing happens. I've even jumped the from the back of the dash connector to a good earth and tried two bulbs which are working in other warning lights. Bloody annoying

Doubt it as get continuity from the 12v feed on the light cluster all the way to the switch earth when I engage diff lock !!

All it can logically be is some kind of short behind the cluster, bypassing the bulb. Is there anything behind that could be doing that?

Not that I can see but will check all of them again. But surly running an earth from the blue wires on the dash connector would illuminate the bulbs.
