make the washer bottle solution stronger -25 works well

Still a bit early tbh but last week it got a thorough wash,clay and wax,clay/polish the glass,silicon spray wiped on the door rubbers (stop the doors freezing shut), all the bushes sprayed with silicon spray and the door locks lubed with 3in1 proper lock lube.Tho stopped short of adding extra strength screen wash yet,coz it's still summer,lol....not had the central heating on yet,ffs!!
Will dig the mains powered fan heater out soon and test it,almost as good as a night heater for a tiny,tiny fraction of the price  . Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

I've had mine waxoyled by Rustmaster. I'll grease the door locks and the wiper arms need replacing.
Has anyone tried snow chains or snow socks? Are they necessary? Matt |

Turn the heater from medium to high.
Defenders come out of the factory ready for far more than a UK winter could throw at them. |

Ha! The roads here are terrible, you need an off-roader for the road!
Plus I live on a very steep hill and work in the construction industry, I can sleep well at night knowing that my vehicle is more than capable  |

It's a defender, of course it's more than capable straight out of the box but is the driver capable

Only if the snow is 3ft deep! As said,drivers input is the biggest factor. Oh,thanks for reminding me,the heater probably wants adjusting to it's max,lol. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5. |

I also used to put a shovel in, few small shackles in for the silly recovery points lesser vehicles have, and make sure something warm to wear, torch ready to go, and gloves. Andy |

Wurth anti corrosion spray important bits, checked tyres, chains put in back, ctek attached and sorn until the salt is all gone

^^ Much the same as bpman, except for the sorning which does not exist here.
Full redinitrol treatment last July, a few weeks ago installed the winter wheels/tires, ACF50'd the door hinges recently, coolant and antifreeze were replaced by dealer already in the spring when they installed the PEL500110 so that is good too, treated all rubbers with a good rubber product, added copious amounts of Weicon paste when replacing the SS screws again by new original mild steel screws  , gear/transfer box, diffs, engine oils were all changed this spring, but in the next few weeks truck will still go to dealer for another 6 months engine oil/filter change. WD-40 in the 12N and 12S tow plugs. Ctek will be plugged every 2 or 3 weeks from now on.
So it is fully ready to go into heated dry secure garage storage for weeks at length this coming winter, because I don't want to get my glossy Dinitrolled chassis dirty by falling leaves, rain or salt on the roads. 
Good to have e-bikes and perfect public transport here.

Question, why would you buy a Defender and mothball it for the winter ? Seems a bit odd to me .
A bit like buying a boat and not wanting to get it wet. |
